I was inspired to become a therapist by challenges in my own life...
I have known sadness and grief; fear and frustration. I have worked hard to nurture feelings of joy, hope, contentment and well-being.
My goal is to help others who are struggling. I want to help you to explore the obstacles in your life and to find ways to overcome them. I want to help you to find a path to your own place of hope and joy.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including: a group home for pregnant and parenting teens; a community college mental health clinic; a hospital; with the elderly at an adult day health care; with adult and child survivors of domestic violence; and since 2004 in private practice. I am currently in the process of becoming certified as a Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
Thanks to this wide range of work experience, I have unique insight into the issues that impact people of varying ages, genders, and sexual orientations and lifestyles. I work with individuals who are monogamous and nonmonogamous, LBGTQ and am Kink friendly.
